JOB TITLE: REGIONAL ESTIMATOR DEPARTMENT: SALES & MARKETING LOCATION: NORTH*SOUTH EAST*SOUTH WEST REPORTS TO: BID MANAGER (ESTIMATING) MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide full costing and Surveying support to the Regional Sales Team and to assist the Sales & Marketing team to secure profitable business. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: To maintain the security and confidential status of all information so designated; to conduct all activities in a professional manner at all times. To manage and prepare full cost estimates in accordance with company operating procedures. To manage and carry out asset*condition surveys in accordance with company operating procedures. To work with the Technical Team on the development of mobilisation plans and costs. To contribute to the search for business opportunities. NATURE OF WORK: To assist the Regional Sales Manager and Bid Team in meeting the Sales targets. JOB BOUNDARIES AND DECISION MAKING: To report into the Bid Manager (Estimating) and to work hand in hand with the Regional Sales Manager coordinating and supporting the sales growth of the region. Appraisals will be carried out by the Bid Manager (Estimating) with input from the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Account Managers. Day to day work scheduling is to be given by the RSM with reference by RSM to Bid Manager (Estimating) MAIN WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: The Jobholder will have to liaise Internally with :- Bid Manager (Estimating), Sales Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, General Managers, Head of Bid Management and Executive. Client contact is likely. DIMENSIONS: The jobholder will be responsible for providing accurate and on time estimating and pricing to facilitate in the Bid process. ESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES: The jobholder needs to have a background in a similar services type environment, or have obtained a high level of education in relevant subjects, or be willing to undertake training both internal and external to the company. Have a good understanding of the company, its products, and its organisation both geographical and structural. A high level of IT skills in word and Excel. A high level of numeracy and analytical skills. A good communicator. Must be prepared to spend time away from home overnight DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES: Previous experience in estimating and analysis.
